Restaurant opening
There were violent thunderstorms in New York and a lack of
celebs turning up to the opening of Nyla. But just as Britney
was booed by fans at the UK premiere of 'Crossroads' back
in March for not giving them attention, those who'd waited
in the rain to see her last night weren't very pleased: "We're
so unhappy, we waited so long to see her and all we got was
the back of her head. I just wanted a wave Britney, just a
wave! We've been standing here for four hours in the rain
and she doesn't even look at us or wave? She didn't even turn
her head."
Britney’s restaurant apologises...
Britney Spears' new restaurant Nyla has had to apologise
to three diners who claim they got food poisoning after eating
there. The three girls all complained of vomiting and diarrhoea
after eating the wild striped bass. The New York restaurant,
which only opened last week, is to give them gift certificates
to say sorry.
End of Story
Thursday, November 28, 2002
Britney Spears has pulled out of Nyla, the midtown Manhattan
eatery she opened just five months ago. The pop star said
in a statement that she has "terminated her relationship"
with the restaurant she formed a partnership with in March
because of mismanagement and "management's failure to
keep her fully apprised."
The restaurant was plagued by lousy reviews and slow business.
Spears said in the statement, "I wish the restaurant
and its current ownership continued success," adding
that she had no involvement in Nyla's day-to-day affairs,
and never earned any money or other benefits from it.
